A candle requires our constant time and
attention. You should keep an eye on a lit
candle at all times. It cannot be left in a
vacant room; you should also refrain from
falling aseep once it’s lit.
Place the candle on a stable, level
surface
Do not place the candle near
flammable materials such as
curtains, bookshelves, fleece blankets
or spray cosmetics.
Before each use of the candle, trim the
cotton wick to a length of 5 mm.
Burning a candle for too long will cause
carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to
“mushroom.” The wick will then become
unstable and produce a dangerously large
flame. Resultantly, the candle will start to
smoke up and release soot.
Children and pets should not have
access to candles - both during use
and in storage. Remember that some
types of wax have a high melting
point of 60-70 degrees C.
Tunneling of the candle is usually caused by the burning
time of the candle beinng too short. If this is the case, the
flame on the wick creates a vertical “tunnel” towards the
bottom as it burns, leaving a lot of wax around the sides, as
the whole surface of the wax is not able to liquefy in time.
Do not place a candle in a draft, close to
fans, or in places with high traffic, e.g., near
the staircase, in the hallway, close to a
doorway. A strong draft of air can extinguish
the candle or, on the contrary, help the flame
spread to a nearby piece of furniture or
fabric.
